If you want to sample shopping in other places, Malaga, up-market Puerto Banus and Marbella are all about 25mins away. A drive of about 1 hour, will take you to Gibraltar where you will find plenty of duty free A short drive in either direction will take you to places such as Benalmadena, Torremolinos and Estepona. If you do not want to drive there is excellent public transport- A short drive inland is found the beautiful Andalucian village of Mijas. It is lovely to wander through the narrow cobbled streets of this Andalucian village where many artists and writers have settled. The craft shops have some wonderful hand made pottery and often affordable paintings and prints by acclaimed local artists, There are good restaurants and even a donkey taxi service. The views from the village are spectacular.
